Dear colleagues,

Every 15th day of the 8th month in the Chinese calendar orbits the moon the closest to our planet. Our clever ancestors discovered this thousands of years ago and since then we celebrate the Mid-Autumn Festival (or Moon Festival) every year. Although the moon is still the roundest and brightest that day, this year’s Moon Festival is extraordinary.

Ever since the world is tainted by the deadly virus, everyone’s life has changed. Although the Moon Festival tradition is for families reunion, for loved ones spending valuable time together, and for friends partying excessively, most of these unfortunately cannot happen as usual this year. If anyone makes a wish, “health” must be top of the list this year.

Although we won’t be able to organize the Mid-Autumn Dinner Party this year for an obvious reason, our hearts are with you and your family during this festive time. Although we won’t be able to play the exciting dice game with you and get you dozens of detergents as trophy, our team has prepared an elegant and delicious gift box shipped directly to your home (or pickup by arrangement) so you can enjoy the time of full moon with your family and loved ones. Although most people in the world are still separated by the plague, the sophisticated technology and innovative applications you have helped build in RingCentral have allowed thousands of people to stay in touch, thousands of business to remain intact, and all of us to work and live healthily during this extraordinary time.

I’d like to share with you an ancient poem I personally like very much. Life is just like different phases of the moon. After the dark eclipse, a shimmering and gorgeous full moon will always return. May the pandemic be over soon and all of us can resume our hard partying spirit.
